10-volume writings of Evgeny Primakov were presented in Tomsk

Tomsk became one of the first cities to present the 10-volume collected writings of renowned politician and scientist Evgeny Primakov, published by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in recognition of his special contribution to the development of the state.

  Tomsk became one of the first cities to present the 10-volume collected writings of renowned politician and scientist Evgeny Primakov, published by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in recognition of his special contribution to the development of the state. The ceremony on this occasion was held on the eve of 8 September at the International Cultural Center of Tomsk Polytechnic University. President of Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin arrived in Tomsk for the presentation of the publication. The writings were published in a limited edition of 1000 copies and are not available for sale. As the publishers of collected writings noted, that this was the first experience of systematization and publication of Primakov’s legacy. The copy of 10-volume writings was handed over to the Governor of the Tomsk region, another copy was handed to the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The owners of two more copies became scientific libraries of Tomsk State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University.

  “We have tried to collect and publish the most important writings of Primakov. Of course, he wrote much more. We believe that this is a manual which will be useful for everyone. These writings is not just about the Middle East, which he knew oats, but also about what is happening today, and was brilliantly predicted by Primakov. There’s about the relationship with the United States and Russia’s role in the world, about the international activity and our economy. Primakov has always stood for economic decentralization, for the transfer of powers to the regions, for the remaining of the most taxes in the regions. Why we present these books in Tomsk? Because Primakov had been in Tomsk. This is the city of the youth. I think that it would be useful and interesting for young people to get acquainted with these writings”, said the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin.

  Primakov had been the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation for 10 years. Variants of development of economic and political events described in his books have become a reality today. Primakov’s experience is the experience of the state thinking, balanced approach to the problems, that allows to find the most positive solution for the country in very difficult situations.

  “The most important thing is not to canonize this man. Together with all his greatness he was an open-hearted man. He wrote all his reports and speeches by himself. He expressed his own thoughts, that is what is most precious about them”, said the President of the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arkady Eskin.

  The event was organized by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Administration of Tomsk region and Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
