On 24 May, 2016 Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in India Yaroslav Tarasyuk gave an interview to federal newspaper “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”

On 24 May, 2016 Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in India Yaroslav Tarasyuk gave an interview to federal newspaper “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” where he noted a project named “R&D in Russia. Make in India” that was proposed by Tomsk delegation during its’ visit to Kerala state. Tarasyuk defined this project as one of the instruments of the Trade Representation used for the development of Russia-India business relations.

“Now we are working on implementing two initiatives. The first one, “Made in Russia. Become a distributor in India”, is tailored to Indian companies. The second one,“R&D in Russia. Make in India” is aimed at helping Russian companies entry into the “Make in India” campaign launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We came up with this idea after the visit of a delegation from the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representing mainly innovative companies, to the state of Kerala. In Russia there are many companies with interesting developments, but they lack resources to commercialize them. Indians are ready to help commercialize these developments, with an eye on not only the Indian market, but also for potential sale to third countries, like West Asia, with whom they have good contacts”, said Yaroslav Tarasyuk regarding the question about assisting Russian companies with Indian market entry.

One of the first Russian participants of this project are Tomsk companies IPHAR and SMET. Information about these companies was published on the official Facebook page of the Russian Trade Representation in India (https://www.facebook.com/rusintrade/?fref=ts).

The business mission of Tomsk small and medium enterprises to Indian state Kerala was organized by Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of Tomsk Region's Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development within the frameworks of the regional entrepreneurship development program. During b2b meetings and negotiations Tomsk companies signed some cooperation agreements with Indian partners.
