Vietnam can be identified in the list of countries with considerable potential for growth in mutual trade. Tomsk people have a long history of successful cooperation with Vietnam. The leaders here are oil companies, Tomsk universities (primarily TPU), Academic Institutes (Institute of Petroleum Chemistry) and innovative companies.

In September 7-14, 2015, there was organized a business mission of Tomsk SMEs to the South provinces of Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh and Vung Tau cities.

In the frame of business trip was made a presentation of Tomsk region and Tomsk business, b2b meetings with potential partners, visiting industrial enterprisers according to participant’s profile. Maksim Golikov, a Trade representative of RF in Vietnam, attended the most important events of business mission, and this fact underlines the particular importance of visit from Tomsk.

The second part of business mission was held in “oil capital” of Vietnam – Vung Tau city. Organizers of the business program were Vietnam CCI and Mr. Dmitriy Shinkarenko – alumni of Tomsk Polytechnic University. They organized meetings of Tomsk companies with in the biggest business of South Vietnam, such as “Vietsovpetro”, “Petrovietnam”, “ZARUBEZHNEFT”, “Petrosetco”, “Arctic sea oil and gas research” and also in the regional administration of Baria-Vung Tau province.

Tomsk businessmen have returned from this business trip with some MOUs with Vietnamese partners, agreements with regional authorities, which soon can become an export contracts or common investment project.
