Organizer of these arrangements (round-table meetings, teleconference with Russian and Indian trade delegations, presentations of Tomsk special economic zone (SEZ)) was a Regional Export Support Center of Tomsk CCI with the assistance of regional Department of industry and entrepreneurial development and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation
External experts of Russian-Indian arrangements were senior staff scientist of Institute of Oriental Studies of the RAS, lecturer of National Research University - Higher School of Economics (NRU-HSE) and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MSIIR), expert of Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU), V. Sotnikov, representatives of group of companies Imperial Energy, representative of Russian-Indian business association, Vivek Sharma and O. Ustyuzhantseva from Center of Oriental countries of National Research Tomsk State University
On the 19th of March participants of the round-table meeting in Tomsk CCI discussed features in collaboration with Indian partners, aspects of business operations in different Indian states and prospecting directions for extension of Russian-Indian cooperation.
They also enquired what kind of support can be given to entrepreneurs from Tomsk CCI, Administration of the Tomsk Region, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Export Insurance Agency of Russia (EXIAR).
In the speeches spokesmen underlined that Indian businessmen are generally opened to cooperation and have a friendly attitude towards Russia. Unfortunately, these opportunities are not in full used by Russian businessmen.
– There is a serious potential for the development of business cooperation between Russia and India. Nowadays, focus of Russian policy – is orientation to the East, cooperation with the leading Asian countries, - underlined V. Sotnikov, authoritative Russian expert in Central and East-Asian countries, while speaking at the round-table meeting.
Vivek Sharma, representative of Association of Russian-Indian business cooperation, was asked to tell participants of conference in Tomsk CCI about the vision of Russian business from “the other side”.
“While doing business with India, you should be very delicate. If you have relationships of trust, business affairs can be started quicker. Indian state governments give different possibilities in setting up joint ventures. It is a rather interesting offer for the development of Indian industry and also a good variant for Russia”, - stressed our guest, noticing that in the context of economic sanctions and fall of ruble Russian people should immediately “catch” a vast Indian market. Mr. Sharma recommended Tomsk entrepreneurs to establish Russian-Indian enterprises more actively and promote their production and technologies through these enterprises.
During afternoon Tomsk entrepreneurs and external experts had meetings with direction of Tomsk SEZ, visited enterprises-residents of special economic zone. K. Kaminskiy, head of the SEZ, in his presentation emphasized that this development institute is opened for cooperation with Indian partners and mentioned the most promising areas of business cooperation.
On the 20th of March a videoconference between representatives of Tomsk and Russian Federation Trade representative in India, Y. Taracyuk was held. The head of the foreign establishment told participants of the teleconference about perspective areas of cooperation, experience of successful companies and opportunities of trade delegation in order to support exporter. In addition, Y. Taracyuk expressed willingness to take part in arrangements of planned in May business mission of Tomsk enterprises to Gujarat and Deli.
